Aims and scope
Land Systems (LS) is a not-for-profit international peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated to the exploration of land systems and their role in sustainability and justice. Recognizing that land is a major nexus of human activity and the environment, the journal aims to understand coupled social-ecological land systems through diverse disciplinary and interdisciplinary lenses. The journal contributes to the Global Land Programme's scientific agenda (GLP). We welcome contributions that advance knowledge about:
- the state and dynamics of land systems, the causes and impacts of these dynamics, and interactions with other components of the Earth system and human societies;
- what people want from land and how to imagine futures that navigate trade-offs and foster positive outcomes in land systems; and
- how to enable transformative changes towards more sustainable and just land systems.
